I and Thou Modern Western Society is growing go on and further a authority from what life was once like. In Martin Bubers book I and Thou, dickens forms of biography are examined. These two forms of living are the I-It and the I-You. The distinction between these two lifestyles is naturalized throughout the book. In primitive times, mountain spoke in a way that created all in allness, or a relationship to what they are encountering. They expressed every encounter in sentence phrases that were derived from relational processes. These primitive people did not base their life around their selfish take or maintaining materialistic objects.
They created relationships, allowing them to see others as a whole being, each human or object for what it is, not what its worth or how it will positively affect them. This was of living fully encompasses Bubers idea of the I-You. Sadly enough, modern shipway of communication include texting, instant messaging, and emailing close friends and family. These new ways of communicating are much less personal, yet a much quicker and easy to get the point of the communion across. Now, we are more focused on how much time it takes to talk rather than what the actual conversation is about. We now trim down short words such as okay into level off shorter versions such as k or kay when answering questions. This escape of communicative length is making it harder for people to understand each other, or to get their original point...
