Abstract
Motivation plays a zippy role in employee satisfaction. Motivational Problems in the Workplace
There are many problems that result from a lack of motivation in the workplace. The most prevalent of these problems are absenteeism and employee turnover. The organization where I am employed is experiencing staff renders out-of-pocket to lack of motivation. Each department within the hospital is experiencing tall incidences of absenteeism and employee turnover. Although the hospital provides an extensive benefit package, employees are finding issue with management practices which they feel are unfair.
The hospital is structured where everyone in the same position is cross-trained so that if there is a need in another department, they can fill in. This type of team up structure helps to build positive relationships among the employees, but there are times when the work load becomes overwhelming and conflicts arise. When there is a huge shortage in staff, staff feels overworked, overwhelmed, and unappreciated. In the past(a) four months, my department has seen five employees resign their positions and three employees who changed their work status from fulltime to part-time. It is difficult for current employees to make up for the absent coverage.
