During the seventeenth century, most professions were closed to women. Instead, the most common mull for a woman was a domestic help servant. As servants, the young females became conquerable to unwanted advances from other men, as well as increase the illegitimacy rate. Also, women were vulnerable in their occasion of the household because their job task was locked at being a servant and winning care of the house. Women could not pursue their own dreams because they were stuck in the role as a domestic servant during the 17th century.
