On August 25th 2010 a phratry 1 Hurricane, known as Katrina, made its first landfall
in Florida near Hallendale Beach. Winds reached up to 121km/h and continued to travel western hemisphere along the coast line causing destruction. The death bell shape in Florida caused by the storm would eventually reach 11 people in total, although this was unfortunate, it would end up being forgivable and insignificant statistic. The storm took an unexpected turn when on the twenty-sixth the National Hurricane Center officially shifted the possible track of the hurricane from the Florida Panhandle, to the multiple sclerosis and Louisiana coast, predicting that Katrina would hit the town of Buras-Triumph, 106 km southeast of tender siege of Orleans. As a result Governor Kathleen Blanco declared a state of emergency for the Louisiana. Over the conterminous two years the storm gained intensity prompting New Orleans mayor Ray Nagin to declare of state of emergency as wellhead and call for the voluntary evacuation of s perpetuallyal parishes in the city that were most at risk. By August 29th the winds had reached 230 km/h and Katrina touched down near Buras LA as a category 4 hurricane.
Three more landfalls would be made in Louisiana and on the 30th the levees that were deposit in place to protect the city of New Orleans would eventually break, allowing for water to rush in, and flood the city. In almost areas the water was 6 metres deep, and by the 31st of August, 80 portion of New Orleans was underwater. Numerous events and conflicts would transpire over the next few days as the state of Louisiana, and more specifically New Orleans was in a state of chaos. 81 billion dollars worth of property was destroyed, and 1,464 lives were lost as a direct result of the storm in what was the most ruin and catastrophic natural disaster the United States of America ever experienced in their history.
